United Way of the Florida Keys Unsung Hero Erin O'Hara

On January 20, 2012, Community Foundation of the Florida Keys held their Unsung Heroes/Volunteer of the Year Luncheon at the Casa Marina in Key West. Erin O'Hara, who has been with Publix in Key Largo for 12 years and is currently an Assistant Store Manager, was awarded United Way of the Florida Keys Unsung Hero award. An independent thinker and dynamic volunteer, Erin has served on the board of United Way of the Florida Keys since 2008. Currently serving as secretary on the executive board, she embodies caring for our community with an exceptional ability to just get it done, whatever the task. A perfect example is the United Way of the Florida Keys "Stuff the Bus" school supply drive that was held in August 2011, at various locations including Publix, which benefited children in the Monroe County area. Erin was a very important link that helped put together this successful event and well lives up to Publix's mission statement "....we commit to be involved as responsible citizens in our communities." Congratulations Erin!
