Agencies in Immediate Need of Volunteers

Florida Keys Outreach Coalition
Stocker: This volunteer will aid the organization in stocking the food pantry and collecting donations. Help is needed Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 10-2pm at St. Peter's Church in Key West.

KAIR (Keys Area Interdenominational Resources) 
Data Entry Assistant: This volunteer will aid the organization in HMIS data entry. The Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) is a local information technology system used to collect client-level data and data on the provision of housing and services to homeless individuals and families and persons at risk of homelessness.
Translator: This volunteer will aid the organization in translating phone conversations between clients and KAIR staff. Volunteers need to be fully bilingual in English and either Spanish or Creole.

Domestic Abuse Shelter
Advocates: This volunteer will aid the organization in answering hotline calls, resolving crisis situations, and counseling. Advocates are needed in the Key West area.

Florida Keys Wild Bird Center
*recently opened visitor center
Greeter: Welcome visitors of the Sanctuary and Visitor Center and help with light clerical work including mailing assistance, filing, and overseeing a small retail stand.
Docent: Become part of the center's education team by answering visitor questions, assisting with tours, and helping the education staff with school programs.
Assistant Sanctuary Technician: Assist the sanctuary team in keeping the Sanctuary’s facilities fully operational by sweeping, cleaning food bowls, and sometimes feeding birds.
Clinic Assistant (CA): Assist with maintenance of the hospital by working directly with our hospital staff and our patients; laundry, feeding, dishes, sweeping, and mopping.
*Note: Clinical Assistant positions are limited in number, and experience in working with animals, specifically birds, is highly preferred.
Bird Emergency Rescuer (BER): Bring injured birds from other locations to the center's hospital.
Custodian: Assist with after-hours cleaning of the Exploration Wing of the Visitor Center.
