United
Way of America’s Mission Statement:
Improve
people’s lives by
mobilizing
the caring power of communities.
Mission Statement:
United Way of Monroe County’s purpose is to provide Monroe County
residents with the means to contribute the dollars necessary, directly
or through payroll deduction, to assure the funding of core voluntary,
charitable, human services agencies in our community so as to
eliminate the need for individual agency fund raising efforts, except
for capital improvements.
United Way will provide assistance to the agencies
to secure grants, to conduct capital improvements fundraisers, to
expand their client base and to secure needed products through
seminars, information exchanges and group purchasing programs.
United Way will work with government and private
sector organizations and the agencies to enhance delivery of human
services in the community.
