Margie Wisenhunt - Board Chairman
Margaret (Margie) is the Chief Governess Officer of United Way of the Florida Keys in Monroe County, Florida. The local United Way seats 16 board members and has one President/Chief Professional Officer.
Margie currently holds the position of Office Manager for the “REPORTER NEWSPAPER”. As such, she is responsible for the day to day office functions as well as the financial reporting and Human Resources.
Margie is fulfilling a long time passion in her role as a Member and Chair of the United Way of the Florida Keys. In as much, there was a time that the United Way lent a helping hand to her and the family during a time of great need.
She feels it is time to give back to an organization that has made a life long difference in her life. She worked on a committee in 2005 putting together the first Roast for a local icon Captain Skip Bradeen. She joined the board in January 2006, and has worked on numerous fundraising events. Margie was the United Way’s Un-Sung Hero in 2008. She accepted the nomination of the 2008-2009 Chief Governess Officer.
Margie has held numerous positions with companies related to Banking, Medical, Engineering, and Cable Television. All of which have been related to Management, Business Development, Recruiting, Government and Financial Compliance.
Margie has resided in Key Largo, Florida for the last 15 years with her husband of 28 years. She has (4) four children living in Florida and Oregon, and has (5) grandchildren. Margie is a past Board Member of the Key Largo Chamber of Commerce and has helped other community organizations (Rotary, Red Cross, Wild Bird Center) with special projects.
