For almost 25 years, LMC has worked to build relationships for constructive alliances among Florida Keys leaders from all backgrounds – civic, business, service, religious and non-profit. LMC provides the opportunity for diverse participants to broaden their knowledge of the community and learn from each other, while enhancing their leadership skills.
UWFK is proud to have seven current board members and eight advisory board members who have participated in LMC. The program enhances the principle mission of United Way—using dedicated local leaders to help make the Keys a safer, healthier, and more prosperous community for everyone.

This July, LMC will be hosting three recruitment socials in the Upper, Middle, and Lower Keys. The recruitment socials are a way for interested community members to gain more information about the program by speaking to past graduates and board members. Candidates must also have lived or worked in Monroe County for one year, be a registered Monroe County voter, and be able to participate in the seven one- and two-day monthly sessions.
The schedule for the socials is as follows:
July 8th: Lower Keys - Marriott Beachside Resort, Key West 5-7pm
July 15th: Middle Keys - Hyatt Faro Blanco, Marathon 5-7pm
July 22nd: Upper Keys - Amara Cay Resort, Islamorada 5-7pm
