Stuff the Bus at the Hard Rock Cafe!

This year’s Stuff the Bus kickoff party at the Hard Rock Café in Key West was incredibly successful! On August 23rd, from 5:30-7:30, friends and supporters of UWFK gathered to collect school supplies to distribute to 8,000 students throughout the Keys.

Approximately 85 guests attended the get-together, donating over $500 and a carload worth of school supplies like backpacks, notebooks, and pencils that will go directly to Monroe County students. The Hard Rock Café generously donated their space as well as child friendly light bites like peanut butter sandwiches, ants on a log, and mini grilled cheeses.

The Stuff the Bus campaign encompasses two of UWFK’s biggest focuses—serving working families and increasing educational access for young children. We are proud of the way our friends and neighbors in the Keys consistently come together to help others, and the Stuff the Bus drive is a prime example of this in action. Stuff the Bus supplies ensure that every child has the tools they need to succeed in school, creating healthier, happier families and stronger communities.

Thank you to everyone who attended the event, especially the Hard Rock Café and Diane Eliopoulos for their generous and continued support. UWFK could not do what we do without your help!
