On Saturday, April 16th, United Way board members Cheryl Sargent and Meri-De Mercado graduated from the Leadership Monroe County Class XXIV. The ceremony was held at the Key West Marriot Beachside Hotel. Also in attendance were UWFK board chair Maria Jones, board secretary Mindy McKenzie, board treasurer Denise Pruess, and UWFK board members Dianne Weitz and Yesenia Ramirez.
Many UWFK board members have participated in Leadership Monroe County. The program recruits dedicated community members who have pledged to take leadership roles in Monroe County—both through their workplaces and through charitable organizations. Participants must have lived in Monroe County for a full year and show commitment to maintaining residence in the area for the foreseeable future. The program seeks to ensure Monroe County’s well-being by cultivating practical, informed community leaders.
Congratulations Cheryl and Meri-De! UWFK is proud to have you on our board.
