We are pleased to announce the appointment of Lynsey Saunders to the UWFK Board of Directors.
Lynsey is the public information officer for the Monroe County School District.
She grew up in Key West, and is a graduate of the University of Florida and Columbia University, where she earned a master’s degree in arts and culture journalism.
Lynsey says, "My main goal since starting my career with Monroe County Schools has been to serve the community to the best of my ability. The United Way's ALICE report for Monroe County shows something I had only assumed - almost half the population in the county came in below the income needed to survive.
UWFK's Hurricane Irma relief is only one example of the organization's high priority in provision of needs to the community. It will be a great privilege to serve on the UWFK Board and to donate my time, skills, point of view, and more, to a cause that is as passionate as I am about serving the community I am a part of, and helping those in need."
Lynsey joins the 2018-2019 UWFK Board of Directors including: Maria Jones, Chair; Trich Worthington, Vice-Chair; Diana Halenz, Treasurer; and Douglas Helkenn, Secretary and Community Impact Liaison. Directors are Jana Caylor, Bill Doxey, Nikki Dunn Cullen, Mike Forster, and Richard Tamborrino.
