United Way of Northwest Florida (UWNWFL) is working hard to help their community despite Hurricane Michael having destroyed their building. They are determined to help the residents of the hard hit communities where they live and work, even as their employees were also personally devastated by the storm.
UWNWFL is accepting donations for Hurricane Relief, and 100% of those donations will be applied to local relief efforts in greater Panama City area.
Here at UWFK, we know that every little bit helps when a community is facing such devastation. Similarily, the following message is from the UWNWFL Facebook page:
"When we say 100% will be used for Disaster relief what it means is that 100% will be put into the community to help OUR COMMUNITY. We are not a cog in a much-bigger wheel. We are local employees who live here and have a vested interest in returning our community to its former splendor."
Give to the UWNWFL Hurricane Michael Disaster & Relief Fund on their web site, or give by texting NWFLunited or 850strong to 41444.
United Way is also urging local residents with friends and families in the affected areas to encourage their loved ones to contact 2-1-1 for information about immediate relief assistance. #LivingUnitedInNWFL #UnitedWayNWFL #850strong
UWFK wants UWNWFL and the Panhandle residents to know that the Keys has been where you are, and please know that things will get better. With the outpouring of support, you will be amazed what your community can accomplish and we are here to help. Together, we #LiveUnited!
