According to the Florida Prosperity Network, "...there is growing evidence that positive economic gains at the national level are not widely shared by low- and moderate-income families in Florida."
The 2018 Prosperity Now Scorecard found that unemployment in Florida is at its lowest rate since 2007, and average annual pay for workers has increased slightly in the last year. Despite these gains, however, income inequality remains high in Florida; the richest 20% of households now earn 4.6 times more than the poorest 20%."
With Florida ranking 42 out of 51 on the 2018 Prosperity Now Scorecard, this clearly demonstrates that the support UWFK provides continues to be critically important to working families living in the Keys.
