In a collaboration with Ocean Reef Community Foundation, First Horizion Foundation, Key Largo Rotary, and private donors, UWCK is pleased to offer Dolly Parton's Imagination Library (DPIL) program for children throughout Monroe County as well as in the Collier County zip code of 34116.
DPIL mails an age appropriate book to your home once a month for children from infancy to age five. These books are designed to encourage children to read and engage parents in reading with their children! Eight to ten weeks after your registration form has been received, books will begin arriving at your home and will continue until your child turns five or you move out of the coverage area.
We currently have openings to enroll children from the Upper and Middle Keys. Lower Keys children will be placed on a waitlist. Our enrollment efforts target children from at-risk households who greatly benefit from this early educational intervention strategy but any child under age 4 1/2 is eligible.
What are the requirements for families interested in signing up?
1) Have a child that is a resident of Monroe County or of zip code 34116 in Collier County.
2) Submit the registration form, completely filled out by a parent or guardian or register online.
3) Notify United Way of the Collier and the Keys any time your address changes.
4) Read with your child!
If you have questions about this program, send us an email.
To sponsor enrollment in the five-year Dolly Parton Imagination Library program at $150 per child, donations are accepted at KeysUnitedWay.org/Donate. Any contribution helps make this program possible for even more children.
